Spirit of Volunteerism Awards
April 20, 2017 – Holly Heald and Rolando Torres are honored as Outstanding Community Volunteers In Orange County at this Year’s Spirit of Volunteerism Awards
Run by OneOC, Spirit of Volunteerism Awards is the oldest, largest, and longest running volunteer recognition event in Orange County. It is an event that not only recognizes individuals but group and corporate team volunteers for dedicating their time to Orange County. This event celebrates the involvement of community volunteers and shows appreciation towards them for putting their precious time aside to help improve our community. SBGA is proud to recognize Holly Heald and Rolando Torres for being honored as Outstanding Community Volunteers in Orange County at the 2017 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards.
This year’s Spirit of Volunteerism Awards ceremony was hosted at the Disneyland Hotel on Monday, April 24th. Nominated by many non-profit organizations and companies, hundreds of deserving volunteers like Holly and Rolando were recognized and honored.
“Holly and Rolando are exceptional team members who are committed to improving our community by dedicating their time and talents,” commented Senior Vice President, Bob Parisi. “Both of them have contributed their time, skills, and enthusiasm to promote volunteering, and we are very proud of their efforts.”
Previously, Holly and Rolando helped donate hundreds of backpacks filled with essential school supplies to the local Boys & Girls Club, volunteered at the local food bank to assemble thousands of boxes of non-perishable food items for low income families, participated in the annual Coastal Clean Up Day removing trash from local shorelines, and more. In an upcoming volunteer event, Holly and Rolando, along with other SBGA Volunteers, will be helping to clean up a facility for young mothers who have been displaced from their homes here in Orange County.
“I was excited to receive this honor. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community. I enjoy participating in causes that are personal to me and are close to my heart,” shared Holly. Rolando commented, “I have a great love for the kids that I coach and have a great time with them. I also really enjoy participating in all of our company volunteer events each year.”
The cornerstone of SBGA’s business philosophy is acting in a socially responsible manner. Team SBGA is committed to giving back and helping those in need, and they are proud to be making a difference.
“I’m thrilled to be able to help honor these outstanding people who are dedicated to helping in any way they can,” said Jolie Hales, head of the SBGA sponsored Volunteer Leadership Committee. “They personify the spirit of giving that we encourage in all of our team members.”
